I Am Humans has been awarded a monthly grant amount of $2,454.40 before taxes. These funds are not guaranteed and are on an at-will disbursal. Therefore, we cannot fully guarantee that these funds will always be there. However, I Am Humans will still live by the financial, moral, and ethical frameworks we strictly adhere to. This is why I Am Humans will disburse 50% of these funds to better the lives of those who need our help. The remaining 50% will be paid to the balance of the loans we have given to other DAOs, directed towards a retirement account with Fidelity, and deposited into a Certificate of Deposit with a credit union.
As long as we are able to secure this monthly grant payment. I Am Humans has decided to co-sponsor two single-parent households, each with a monthly disbursement of $500. I Am Humans cannot guarantee that these two single-parent households will spend these disbursal funds responsibly or adhere to the same principles we try to embody as a DAO.
We can only hope and pray that these two single-parent households will use these funds to improve their families’ lives and financial situations.
Ultimately, the outcome of these disbursal payments will be up to the families themselves.
I Am Humans cannot tell these families what to do with this money. But we will arrange a discussion with these families to ensure they understand that these funds should ideally go towards tackling their debts, putting food on the table, and buying essential household supplies for monthly upkeep. In addition to the income that these families already receive from their own personalized jobs.
Nobody in this life is owed anything, but I Am Humans recognizes the need that someone may silently request but never actually get. We have chosen these two families because we feel led by the Holy Spirit to help those in a desperate, dire situation. We believe that if we can help these two families, their children’s lives will prosper in the future. Only if the head of household in these single-parent homes uses these funds in accordance with the strict guidelines and principles they set for themselves.
Due to the nature of this grant, these monthly disbursals are on an at-will basis. I Am Humans will ideally re-evaluate these two single-parent households every 6 months. If I Am Humans is still in possession of this grant after 6 months, I Am Humans hopes to co-sponsor two different families with a new 6-month program. But if another 6 months is needed, I Am Humans will take this into consideration and re-evaluate the families.
We hope, from the bottom of our hearts, that these two single-parent households will be able to get back on their feet after 6 monthly disbursements of $500 per household, totaling $3,000.
This money should give these families enough leeway to get back on their feet and stabilize their personal financial situation. However, these families must take that responsibility upon themselves or risk falling back into old habits.
We only hope and pray that this does not come to that.
