Matthew 6:21

It is in my humble opinion that I ponder the following. One reason so many celebrities, professional athletes, and those in prestigious positions, such as presidents or governors, fail is that they convince themselves that “this is it.”

These positions cause their minds to believe there is no further up or down they can go. And because many of these positions inherently involve selfishness. This selfishness prevents such persons from seeing that there is more to life than just holding such prestige. Becoming a father or a mother, or adopting a child, is just one aspect of such difference .

Many of those who hold such prestige do not allow themselves to become uncomfortable outside of the notion that their jobs or positions give them. They are surrounded by what every person on Earth desires from a materialistic perspective. From always being surrounded by fancy dinners, elaborate yachts, and women or men who have outer beauty.

Yet none of these materialistic points of view will truly salvage what is most important.

So many of those who hold such positions are fully convinced they have seen all that the world has to offer. Yet from the opposite end of that spectrum lies poverty. Those who have nothing must cling to the very opposite of what those on the opposite spectrum rarely ever think about. What must a person who has nothing cling to if not the very existence of life itself?

While those with such prestige rarely ever consider that life itself is more prestigious than gold, diamonds, power, respect, or oil. A person may have the outer respect of their peers. But do not value life itself for its own sake.

Once a person reaches this level of prestige through fame, respect, or recognition. They, in a sense, become complacent because they may convince themselves that they have reached the highest point a person can reach. So there is nothing else left to accomplish. But money in itself cannot heal the spirit or the soul from its desires. That desire is strictly born innately inside of us to be at peace in our minds and to be comfortable with who we are, wholeheartedly, for life itself and nothing else.

A man or a woman can do everything in their power to gain such popularity. A man or woman undoubtedly does everything they can to reach such a level of prestige in fame and fortune. But that is not all that life has to offer.

One must carefully examine oneself and how one truly is when the stadium lights go away, or a person’s term of office is ending, or in the happenstance of such objects of possession reaching a focal point of 0.

We have witnessed such atrocities and crashes inside stock markets and speculative endeavours in the past. Men and women may place so much of their entire identities in these momentary gains. Yet when the focal point of 0 may be reached because of complacency or miscalculations, it may cause such persons to develop mental breakdowns and loss of value in life itself.

Yet hardly ever do such persons equip themselves with gratitude and thankfulness. For life itself is more prestigious than gold, diamonds, respect of strangers, or names on billboards.

A person with such a level of prestige may think to themselves that they have everything this world has to offer. But do such people ever consider that the secrets of the Universe and all this world has to offer are already inside of them? If they knew such, they would immediately recognize their faults, mistakes, sins, and areas of life in which they strive to become better human beings, all within the twinkle of an eye. Stronger than any epiphany and more precious than any material gain.

For one’s spirit and soul cannot be bought or sold for material gain.

We may search and search for prestige and fame. But how many of those with such a desire ever believe in themselves that they already possess such prestige and fame within their own families and friendships? In other words, would one desire to live peacefully with their families or does one desire to obtain the prestige and fame of strangers?

For I have seen many of those with such prestige develop nasty characteristics, born of many of the things that make a person turn into a monster. A person may become president but still have no relationship with their spouse. A person may become a famous athlete but develop horrible spending habits and an expensive lifestyle that can cause them to drastically fail in life happenstances outside the court or the field. A person may become prestigious in their employment but have no relationship with their children.

Have such persons truly reached the pinnacle of “success” other than what material gain may supposedly offer to them? A handbag cannot talk. A necklace cannot speak. Nor will power make you successful as a husband or as a wife.

A person may do everything in their power to gain their colleagues’ respect but remain distant from their own family. We work, and work keeps the mind busy and occupied with what it needs to put food on the table and clothes on our backs. But outside of food, shelter, clothing, and water. We neglect our families in search for material gain. For if one knew that the most important aspect of life is family. One would care not for another man’s possessions or move his boundary marker. For if we knew what being a man is, a man would not care if another man has a wife. For a man loves his wife for she is his companion. A man need not desire what another man has.

For a man recognizes in himself what a boy cannot see. A boy desires what others possess. But a man knows what he wants and how to obtain it without harming another man or any other human being.

For a man loves all and hates none. A boy hates all and only loves himself. A man provides, while a boy only takes. A man shelters himself, while a boy believes he can make his home with whoever or wherever he desires. A man knows his heart, while a boy cares not if he breaks a heart. A man is kind, sweet, and gentle. A boy is destructive, chaotic, and doesn’t know what he wants. A man makes his wife his companion. A boy only sees a woman as a toy.

A boy searches for treasure. A man recognizes that his treasure is his family. A man need not care what another man has. For a man, if he is able, he gives and does not take. A boy demands. A man requests, and if denied, he takes no offense. A boy is always ready to argue with another. A man knows what he doesn’t and respects those who do know.

For we search and search for everything this world has to offer. Yet we hardly think or believe that we already have everything this world has to offer inside of us. If we are willing to look within ourselves to understand our limitations, we can simultaneously express our regrets, improve ourselves in everything we do, and never harm another person in reaching for our desires.

For Jesus harmed none.  Nor did Jesus persecute any. Yet he gained what others search for. Yet Jesus did not search for treasure. Nor did Jesus need to obtain fame, fortune, glory, gold, or to pick up a sword. Yet we claim to know Jesus while searching and searching for what this world supposedly has to offer.

A man is not afraid when he is defeated. For a man does not look to the crowd for his nourishment. A man does not need gold, diamonds, or a nice car. When a man recognizes who he is, he needs only himself and those who elevate him to reach his truest potential without causing harm to anyone.

A man does not ignore his problems. A man does not blame his mother. A man accepts his position, and if he desires, he becomes successful in that in which he desires. A boy does not know what he desires. A boy makes friends with all whom he can take. A man carefully chooses his friends and does not take from them with a sense of demand but a sense of reciprocity if needed. For a man who will borrow and is not afraid to make such requests if he needs to provide for his family. A man will pay back what is owed. A boy will demand, and if he can, he will not pay back what is owed. But instead, provides excuses for not being able to meet the requests that he asked.

We search and search, and we become stubborn in thinking that we have reached our level of success in fortune and fame. But if a person is truly to live an exceptional life. A person must devote themselves entirely to their families without judgment, without harassment, or without the need to control others in their lives. For a man recognizes that he has no control over any man except himself.

Jesus accomplished such endeavors without taking offense at any or causing harm to any.
